F... How i hate when it happens,i am on a downswing at the moment no matter how big favorit i am going in i loose to illusyrate this hand. 5$ tournament 2hours in i have a littel more than average villain has me covered i get AK spades on the button I raise to 8times BB course there is 3 limpers. And there is one villain that calls with any 2suited in unraised pots i get 2callers one tight player in BB and villain in middel position(in raised pots he normally plays only high AX or pocketpairs) Flop comes AK8 rainbow one heart I have about 3times the pot and goes allin after it is checked to me BB folds villain calls and he has about three times me He shows 36H turn 7 river J and offcourse both off them hearts. How the hell can he call? This has been the kind off beats i have just gotten one after another the last couple off weeks,i know that you have to accept the allins in the start off freerolls, but for christ sakes 2 hours in to a tournament with buyin.

Hi jannie, i have found alot of the time players that go allin with crap are playing other tournaments, have lots of money or are just bad players. In a freeroll people dont pay to play so they are losing nothing, i have had many bad beats similar to yours and most are in freerolls. This rarely happens when its a real money tournament, unless its a rebuy. Maybe next time u get AK AQ KK AA go allin preflop and then they will not see a flop unless they got a decent hand. GL slick

i have know of a poker site called i4poker where in the freerolls the player wiht the most chips almost always win, o dont know if it is due to the software programed to make the tournament last less.

I have absolutly no advice on this topic. I can only tell you that you are not alone in things like this. I've seen it online, and in the casino. I will say it is rare to hear of it hapening so late in a tournament, but I guess it was only a $5 tourny.
-------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope to break even this week. I need the money.

I have been many many times in those situations, and what i learned is that when you dont take risks you dont win anyway, so... As poker is a game of $, some just dont care about their money, thats why they call you all the time. Even on the WSOP you see aces beated and beated by hands like KQ suit, 10 10, .... Thats Poker !

i know how you feel, the important thing it to not let that kind of stuff get you off your game! if you keep playing the way you know is right you're better off on the long run!

Hey I had 2 very bad beats (for me at least) on 2 differnet tables within 10 mins. this morning! So what do I do... Play tonights freeroll and put a couple of bad ones others. I finished in the top 40 (again). Not too bad for a person who was called a "looser" by biodome (who finish 233rd) last week in the PI Semi-Pro (I finished 23rd) or this weeks where thickpita was mad because he gave me a cheap buy-in to a straight that made him finish 332nd.
Remember, Mother always knows best!!!!! (lol or at least that's what she always told me;) !)

i plat at royal vegas as well as 3 other sites andat royal vegas,it seems that after the first hour the players with the big stacks win no matter what u have,it happens nearly evey hand ther ,program must be made like that so the tourney dosent drag on forever . royal vegas has 6000 entrys per freeroll, some of the bad beats ive seen are truly mind boggeling at this site.
keep getting hands like feetkeep getting hands like feet

Its a bad call, but 5$ isn't that much to whine about :P when you play cheap tourneys on internett you can expect to meet bad players :P

Jannie, don't sweat it, just put that player on your buddy list, and play them at every available opportunity. The way they play, you will make a fortune, very quickly. Sometimes they get lucky, just stick to your A game, and you should take him down no problem, as was said earlier, he made the bad play, not you. Good luck my friend,

It happens to everyone - even the bad players! As the last post said - keep an eye out for him cos you should be able to take a lot of money from someone who plays that badly!
