Believe it or not, but Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies, noted high stakes PLO player, Illari was found in 9th place having made earnings in 2009 exceeding €1,7 million. He was also the biggest earner and only representative in the under 30 category. Interestingly, the second biggest earner in the under-30 category is also a poker pro, Ville Mattila who made more than 660,000 euros. Sami "Lars Luzak" who has often been on the list in the past has moved out of the country, probably for tax reasons, so he is no longer featured. The earnings featured reflect taxable earned income for Finnish poker pros refers only to winnings from non-EU sources (like Full Tilt Poker). Winnings from within the EU are taxfree and not included in the figures mentioned here. Also, any unearned income (ie. income from stocks or other investments etc.) is not included. Of the taxable income, at least 50% of it must go to the Finland tax authorities. Reason enough to consider a move.
